The Hayward Lakes region is well known for its great musky fishing and scenic beauty. Wildlife abounds in the 700,000 acres of the Chequamegon National Forest and Lower Clam Lake is a pristine water with abundant fish & wildlife. Rated Class A for musky, a vacation here will increase your odds for a real trophy. Catch bass, crappie, musky, walleye, perch and bluegill.

And, if you enjoy nature and want to experience a near-private lake, quiet and beautiful, this is it. Lower Clam is a 250 acre lake that is part of the Chippewa River system. Tall Tree's ground lie where the Chippewa River flows from lower Clam Lake. The river falls over a rapids and under a walking bridge. Brown's Hole, down below in the river, has good fishing also. And, is home to a myriad of wildlife including: mink, otter, heron, muskrat, eagle and the like.
Hunting
Some of the finest grouse and woodcock hunting in Wisconsin exists in the thousands of hunting acres around Tall Trees Resort. Season opens in mid-September. The best grouse hunting is in October and November. Bow and gun hunting for deer is a fine wilderness experience in the Clam Lake area. The best time for a bow hunt is from mid-October to mid-November. The gun hunting season starts the Saturday before Thanksgiving and lasts for the next 9 days.

  • Snowmobiling: There is snowmobiling right to your cabin door and enjoy over 600 miles of groomed trails.
  • Cross Country Skiing: Home of the "Birkie" - Literally 100s of K of Cross Country trails groomed and marked within 20 miles.

  Cascade -  A deluxe spacious, three bedroom home overlooking lower Clam Lake and the Chippewa River. This home, built in 1997, has two fireplaces, two levels of living space, three bedrooms, two and one half baths, and a family room. The family room features a wet bar, pool table, and cozy fireplace. In addition there is a large deck and a screened in porch. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, the second bedroom has a double bed and the loft bedroom has two twin beds. This is a non-smoking, no pets house. Satellite TV & central air conditioning is also included.

Lake View - A spacious, three bedroom log vacation home with fireplace built in 1986. This Ted Pine cabin contains a livingroom, fully equipped kitchen, master bedroom with a queen size bed, second bedroom with two twin beds, a loft bedroom with three twin beds, a full bath with tub and shower. This vacation home is carpeted throughout, has a color TV and provides a wonderful view of lower Clam Lake. Deck and private pier.
