THE LAKE

Ole Lake is located within the "Quiet Lakes" region of the Chequamegon National Forest in Sawyer County, 18 miles East of Hayward, Wisconsin. Ole Lake is an exceptionally clear, well-structured class "A" musky, spring fed lake. Long known for musky, Ole also has an excellent population of large mouth bass within its 90 acres and depths to 40 feet.
There is no public access and with only a few homes, fishing pressure is light on this pristine lake, which has natural fish reproduction. Ducks, loons, beaver, otter and muskrats share the lake while ospreys and bald eagles are common overhead. Deer and smaller wildlife are frequently seen and occasionally a black bear.
As part of the unique "Quiet Lakes" area, Ole Lake has no jet skis or water-skiing, and boat speed is kept to 10 mph. This provides a fisherman's paradise and an ideal setting for those seeking peace and serenity.
THE PROPERTY
Having level, perfect elevation and situated in a cove with a scenic point overlooking most of the lake, this secluded private home is surrounded by 11 wooded acres and boasts 600 feet of natural, untouched shoreline. It is reached by a one-quarter mile balsam lined drive off of a black top road. Kids will enjoy fishing off the sturdy pier. A large sundeck overlooks the recreation area - perfect for lawn games and viewing the abundant wildlife.
THE AREA
Hayward provides varied entertainment, shopping, laundry facilities, hospital and clinics. The LCO Casino is within 12 miles and more than six golf courses can be reached in less than 30 minutes. Groceries, gas, bait, fishing licenses, fine casual dining, a café, video and DVD rentals plus access to larger lakes with boat rental are two miles away or less. A licensed kennel for your pets is about six miles away. Miles of quiet roads can be hiked or biked right from the cabin and Brandt road is part of the world-famous CAMBA mountain bike network. Copper Falls State Park is nearby.
