Welcome to
Berry Lake Lodge in Northwest Wisconsin. This unique private
lake estate built in 1925 on 700 acres and overlooking an 80
acre lake is located 25 miles south of Hayward in Birchwood -
The Bluegill Capital of Wisconsin.
Intended as
a vacation home and still used as such, there are six
bedrooms, two full baths, a complete modern kitchen and three
fireplaces that were built using the stones quarried from the
property. The original hardwood floors, hand hewn beams and
oriental rugs complement the modern conveniences added through
the years for your comfort. |
The
full size screened-in porch commands the best view of the 80
acre lake. Whether eating, sleeping, resting or rocking your
cares away, you're sure to find the porch to be one of your
favorite rooms. If you are a bird watcher, we have several feeding
stations for you to view our feathered friends. You are sure
to enjoy watching the bald eagle circle over the lake, or watch
the osprey catching its fish dinner. Out favorite water fowl
is the loon. We are fortunate to have a pair return every year
and raise a family. At times, the cry of the loon can be the
only sound you hear at Berry Lake.
The private lake is home to bluegill, sunfish, perch, large
mouth bass and northern pike. Aside from great fishing, you
can also enjoy swimming, canoeing, paddle boating and snorkeling.
A large sandy beach is sure to be a hit with the little ones
in your family. Nearby, is the boat house which we fondly refer
to as the "Yacht Club." Here you can enjoy another spectacular
view of the lake while enjoying a picnic lunch. Berry Lake is
strictly a fishing and swimming lake. However, you can find
some excellent skiing at nearby Long Lake.
Our asphalt tennis court has been beautifully maintained and
comes complete with ball machine and umpire's chair for those
BIG matches. The loft of the barn has been converted into a
basketball court, with a ping pong table as well. For the young
ones in your group, we have a darling log cabin, full-size swing
set and a 6 foot sandbox. Nearby is a tether ball mound and
badminton court.
Our caretaker, who lives on the premises, is very knowledgeable
of the area and can answer any questions you might have concerning
the lodge. You will also find a folder in the main house containing
all the restaurant guides, as well as activities in neighboring
towns. Hayward, only 35 miles away, is home of the Fishing Hall
of Fame and also hosts the annual International Lumberjack Championship.
As you can see, Berry Lake Lodge offers something for everybody.
You even have a choice in your mode of transportation. There
is convenient air travel from Chicago to either Eau Claire or
the Twin Cities. The Lodge is located only 360 miles N.W. of
Chicago, 242 miles north of Madison, and only 140 miles east
of the Twin Cities.
We firmly believe that once you experience the beauty, tranquility
and total privacy of Berry Lake Lodge, you will never want to
leave. Please call anytime for rates and availability. |
